Piecing together a AR

I am looking at building a cheap AR as my first one, and was looking for some insight. I am pretty sure I am going to buy one of the lowers a member here has for sale, but with uppers....some choices.

I am looking at building a cheap AR as my first one, and was looking for some insight. I am pretty sure I am going to buy one of the lowers a member here has for sale, but with uppers....some choices. Looking at DPMS, but am confused on what I should go with, so some insight would be great.

The rifle will be used for target plinking, and coyote and small predator hunting. I want to keep it to 16", maybe 20" barrel length at most because I will probably use it for HD as well.

For the price, I am looking at this A3 upper.
http://www.dpmsinc.com/store/product...=5988&cat=1646

Now my question is, with the 5.56x45...I can use .223 Remington, right? Those are compatible, but using 5.56x45 NATO through the .223 receiver is not going to happen. Am I correct in this?

Now, for a little more money and a bigger round, this is what I was also thinking.
http://www.dpmsinc.com/store/product...=1677&cat=1928

Now with that round, I know this mostly as the SKS and AK47 round, and thus with that rifle, most people just shoot bulk ammo for plinking. Not done the research with ammo, but how would bulk (like wolf or something) work through a more delicate AR?

I don't even know where to begin looking at other upper AR options, so some insight would be great.

Thank yall.

Going to be in the market next week once my G27 is sold, so which one. I've read aimpoint is more durable. I going to spend between 300-500 so I be able to get a cheaper model.

I think the eotech mounts right to the top of a Ar but does a aimpoint?

I'm looking for a round as close to the Mk 262 Mod 1 (5.56mm black hills 77gr open tip match)... Is this it?

http://cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templa....form1&Go.x=11

scroll down to where is says "5.56 NATO/.223 77gr MK CL"...

Reason being, I have to shoot 5.56mm out of my KAC SR15, it isn't designed for .223 stuff and will short stroke it... The barrel is 1:7 twist which is why I want the heavier bullets. This ammo isn't easy to come by so I'd probably stock up on this stuff if its the load I'm looking for, but like I said, it needs to have the high pressure of the 5.56 and not the .223...when it says "5.56 NATO / .223" I'm inclined to think its 5.56 because their other ammo is just labeled ".223".... might be a dumb question?

I'm surprised this isn't here already. I am looking for a new belt, I bought a cheap ($40) belt about a year ago, and it has basicaly fallen apart on me now. I need another one, and one that will last me several years. Perhaps everyone can put belts into "tiers" and have a running list of Gun belts with pictures?

Anyway, Here is what I need.

*I need a good belt that will last me at least 5 years.
* 1 1/4" width to fit my skyops holster
* under $180, but as cheap as possible and still get good quality.
*has to look like a dress belt
*DURABLE!!!!

Any ideas out there? I'm looking around, and I just want some opinions before I decide. Thanks in advance.
